These books are out of order. I was halfway through the second one when I realized it was really the third in the series. This ruined the third (really second) book for me since much of the plot was revisited in the second (really third) book. I ended up just skimming the last book (really second) to confirm I already knew where it was going. A real bummer! Other than this I do recommend these books and this author. Great, character driven stories with excellent plot twists and misdirection. However this was no bargain since the twists were already revealed. Buy this book, then read it in the correct order.Product details

I prefer stand alone plots to a connected series (beyond expected characters in a series.) Krueger’s usual good books are in this collection though. Enjoyed them.
I am from Duluth Mn so this series really hits home!! I love that I know where all of these places are and that I know the climate they talk about; it's just a good read which I haven't found in years! I have 2 young boys and haven't found the time to sit and read and now I do!
William Kent Krueger is a great author. Great summer reading that you don't want to put down. Not as dark as many mysteries. Characters are believable and just like your family and neighbors.
Excellent writing and compelling characters. Krueger's stories are always a pleasure to read. Best read in sequence that the novels are written since they chronicle the main character's life (Cork O'Conner.)
If you have read this far you know you like WKK and Cork, so nothing need be said about them. However, please note that the books appear in the wrong order in the actual download. Mercy Falls should be read before Copper River, the order of those two books are reversed in the download.
Although the cover of this exciting collection accurately presents the order of the books contained, Mercy Falls and Copper River are inverted within. Do NOT read Copper River before Mercy Falls! Mercy Falls happens BEFORE the events of Copper River, and these two novels should be read in the proper sequence so that the reader is not robbed of the story encompassing both! As usual, William Kent Krueger offers a great literary adventure of suspense, sacredness, and sojourners well worth the hours spent with them.
I really like these mysteries, but whoever put this collection together put Copper River (actually the sixth book overall) SECOND in the collection, and Mercy Falls THIRD (this book is actually the fifth book overall). By the time I realized they were out of order it ruined Mercy Falls for me. If you get this collection, skip over Copper River and read Mercy Falls first. In Copper River, they give away what happened very, very early, plus I kept thinking what the heck is going on here?!? These two go together quite a bit, much more so than in his other books, sadly. What a bummer!
